Day with Mel

So my first experience with alcohol was horrid. It didn't get me drunk and I didn't get sick, the crap just tasted so freaking bad I could drink any more. It didn't burn when it went down, I just drank cough medicine, that's what I thought it was. But nope it was Grey Goose. Sorry for all the people that love Grey Goose, but man never will I try it again unless its mixed with something.

My second experience I tried a strawberry daiquiri from Red Lobster. I actually love the virgin one but man, one sip of the alcohol one, and I said nope and said forget and got a virgin. My lounge felt like it was tasting burntness (yes I know, not a word but oh well) and something else, *shudders* it was horrible.

So today I went to O'Charley's with my friend Mel. I was craving fish and she had gotten her hair done and we had lunch early at PK Noodles, one of the best Viet. places ever. Well out waitress told us two drinks were really good. So all I have to say is that if you want to buy me a drink you can get me the tangerine pomegranate margarita or a tangerine grapefruit margarita. I like the pomegranate one more and hopefully my next time out I can order a Panty Dropper, the waitress recommended it, pineapple and orange juice, so what I need, lol. But hey at least I found something I can drink. I felt bad not drinking, maybe I just have to find a mix, cause I do want to have new stuff, so at least I found two so far. ^_^

Oh say hi to Mel's shoulder, she was trying to move, but I didn't really care if she was in the shot, so you got a shoulder, ohhh.... alluring.

Going Natural

So this past Wednesday I went to the beach. Just wanted to say it, and I decided that after so long of getting a perm then taking it out and getting my hair straightened I've decided to go natural. Going natural for me is not using heat or trying very hard not to, then using no chemicals and not using any straightening tools or hot curlers or anything of that nature. So I'm letting my normal hair show and I want it to get healthy and stronger and hopefully one day it will be as long as I truly want it which is to my waist. Maybe when I get it to my waist I may get it straightened, but that would only be every few months and not a regular every two weeks.

I'm new to this and youtube is a great help for people who are just starting out. I'm doing a lot of trail and error and while its a waist, its kinda what I have to do. But so far I'm learned that shea butter helps lock in moisture, that getting a sulfate free shampoo for curly hair is a must, and having a good curly hair conditioner and if you can find a good leave it conditioner then that's good too. Don't think you need mouse, I thought I did, big mistake. Now I don't know what works well for others but this is what works for me.

Just a couple of hair styles I tried out. Simple yet easy. To make it more curly I twist my hair all over and use the shea butter to keep the ends together and wrap my hair with a satin scarf, if you don't have satin silk works too, but never use cotton, it defeats the purpose and makes your hair really sucky.

Easy Meals: Tbone, salad, baked potato

I marinated the steak in black pepper, accent, seasoning salt, garlic powder, and Wisconsin sauce for about two hours, let it soak up all the flavors. Then I cut up butter and threw it over the meat and around it on aluminum foil in a cook pan and threw olive oil over it and around so it wouldn't stick and wouldn't dry out. Cook it to how every you want, rare, medium rare, well done, etc.

Wet your baked potato and pop it in the microwave for ten minutes then take it out, wrap it in aluminum foil and let it chill in the oven for about 30 minutes or so, check it and put a knife throw different parts to see how soft it is. When it goes through with ease like butter but take it out. I added salt and pepper, butter and sour cream to mine, you add whatever you want.

Then my salad was easy. Some lettuce, whichever you prefer, chopped tomato, some sliced carrots, and a little of your favorite dressing and your meal is done.

Easy Meals: All Star Breakfast

So I'm one of those people that when I want breakfast, I usually want everything and I don't know what to choose so I just make everything. Its a really bad thing and I don't do it that often so at least I don't eat so much all the time, but hey I don't eat it a lot so when I do, I have to go all out. So as you can see a lot of things, I'm not going to list ingredients, I don't really feel like it for this one so I'll just tell you how I made everything instead.

Yes I burnt the pancakes a little, was listening to music on my head phones and forgot to turn around and flip them, probably should have but the second on top since it wasn't burnt, but hey it was still awesome and no it didn't have a burnt taste, it was just a little black is all. How to: pancakes. You mix a small amount, depends on how many you want, of flour, sugar, egg, and milk. You want it thick but not so thick that its like bread dough, just in between liquid and thick. Heat a little vegetable oil and mix it into the batter. Take a small amount just enough to make the frying pan shinny and put whatever amount of batter into the pan. You want this on four because you want it to cook slow so you can watch it properly. Wait until the edges have turned up a little, maybe browning and then flip it. You will have leakage of the batter but its cool, no worries, you will get better as you continue to practice. Its its not light brown on the side you see, then let the cooking side sit longer than you did the first and then flip it over, flip it a few more times til you get the desired color. Repeat the process til all the batter is gone or you have made enough.

On to bacon and sausage. Keep your pan on five and then let it cook itself. You are going to turn it over or roll it so it cooks evenly, cut the sausage if you need to make sure it done and no more pink is there. The bacon til crispy or however you want it to be, but remember you don't want to get sick, so better til crispy.

The eggs, yeap, that's carrot, just sliced up, some chopped tomato and onions, and cheese. I sauteed the veggies first so they would be a little soft, then I put the egg on top and scrambled them as usual but I made sure to cook it on five so it was slow and I didn't get a hard scramble.

The toast, pop it into the toaster, a little butter, then some jelly and you have the above. Fun eats! ^_^

Nails: Let's try some designs ^_^

Might be wondering why I haven't showed any nail art or anything in a month, well its cause I messed up my nail really bad so I have to wait for it to heal so I can get them done again. If you want to know exactly what I do to them, I get a fake tips then acrylic powder/gel on top of them. Yep that's it, they last about six weeks, without fill in, but I use my hands a lot so I sometimes have them break but its my own fault cause I hit them on things or snap something and they break that way. I've learned the lesson, especially with the pain, but I'm going to get them thicker next time I go so they will hold up longer hopefully. But I do have designs I'll be getting and I'll show you guys what they are. ^_^

I need to do this more often.....

Ok I'm gonna post a lot today and I'll try posting every day from now on I promise. ^_^ Wish me luck.

Procrastination

I have the worst problem with this. When it comes to working out, when it comes to writing, doing this blog, everything in life, I do that with. Usually it works well 'cept for the working out, but I don't really know how to change that. I'm someone who likes having things done quickly and not waiting around for them. I've always been that way and its sad that I think that way and I wish it wasn't that way but.... People say when you're honest with yourself you change, yeah, that doesn't happen, at all.

Easy Meals: Turkey Stir Fry

This is a as needed type of recipe. I will give you ingredients, you choose how much, depending on how many you serve.

chopped onion
sliced strips of green bell pepper
chopped mushrooms
chopped or whole carrots (whichever you prefer)
chow mein noodle or thin spaghetti
chopped broccoli
ground turkey
soy sauce
sugar
extra virgin olive oil

Ok so first things first, make sure you have prepared and chopped everything up. Take a skillet and pour in about two caps olive oil then put a little soy sauce and sugar in, just enough so you can have a dark color of oil. You don't wanna put a lot because it will taste too salty or sweet, you want a good balance, so make sure you put the same amount of both, depending on how much you make. You are going to throw your onion and pepper in letting them saute on medium heat. While that's going you're going to boil water for your noodles and if you have tools to steam, steam the broccoli, if not you'll leave it alone for now.

Once the water boils put the pasta in, a little salt and some oil, and make sure to keep pushing it back and forth, you don't want it to stick together. Use a spoon with holes and place your onion and bell pepper to the side on a plate. Take your mushrooms and do the same that you did with the onion. Repeat the same process for the carrots and broccoli. But when you do the broccoli put a top over it, a little bit of water in the pan you're using and let it steam a little while its soaking up the rest of the mixture. If you need or want to add more oil, sugar, and soy sauce, go right ahead. Just make sure you are watching yourself and don't go overboard, you want a light taste nothing heavy.

Once all the veggies are done place them to the side and put only oil in the pan and cook your ground turkey. Once its done, place your veggies back into the pan and mix it all together. Your noodles should be done, well before this, but you can always turn them off and just let them sit in the hot water until you are ready. Drain the water off and you can do one of two things here. You can put a little oil, sugar and sauce, directly on the noodles and just mix them a little, or you can get a bowl or plate, put the noodles on the bottom and the veggies on top and mix it so that the flavors from the veggies and meat get through the noodles. It doesn't matter, its all up to you which way you want to do things.

But eat it hot or cold, it actually can go both ways, but hot is better, and have fun eating.

Idoits At Work

So I work at a gas station, don't remember if I mentioned it or not. I have to get the trash at certain points at night and I also change the water buckets so you guys can clean your windows. I wear gloves to do this. Not because its dirty, trash yes, but its because we have a butt load of spiders and bugs and I don't feel like getting bite by then cause if I do, well, its on, and every bug is going down. So most people joke with me about it, thinking I'm wearing them cause of the money or something else, but I just tell them why and they just joke and its all good. So why last night while I'm at work this stupid dumbass comes and asks me why I'm wearing them. To be funny I say because you're dirty. I said it with a smile and even laughed afterward. He says he's going to call the police on me because I'm wearing gloves. I'm like go right ahead, you'll look like the dumb one when they come up here. I'm waiting and he just looks at me, gets the weed smoking cigarillos he wants and leaves. Yeah, people can be..... Urgh is all I can say.

A co-worker, different store, new girl, but there is no excuse for what's going on. She sells over $1000 in cards to a person over the phone. WHO THE HELL DOES THAT? Even if God himself is on the other line you don't give codes and card numbers over the phone to someone. Like how is that even possible, I will never understand how people can do something like that. Thing is this is the true situation.... Let's say you leave your credit card to my store and you're my boss. I know your voice and everything. You call back later asking for your card number and the information on it, and I know its your voice and I give it to you. Now you come up a few minutes later and ask for the card. Then we talk and I say did you get what you needed, the card info... and the boss is like, I never called back to get anything. How would you feel if someone did that to you, they just gave these phone voices your money or a companies money and then they get fired but it doesn't help anything. That money is still lost. But who does shit like that, I mean, that's common sense, you don't give any info over the phone unless you call about P90x or Turbo Fire, or something you are ordering online, other than that, nothing is over the phone, like really are people just retarded.

Another thing, last thing, some people don't read the credit card machine reader, cool, but please next time I ask for your pin number DON'T TELL ME, JUST TYPE IT IN. And they are quick to tell me, I'm like what the hell, I don't even let my own mom know my pin number why are you tell me a completely stranger.

Work Rant!

I really do hate my job, its not that I can't do the work, its that people around me don't seem to know how too. Now I will completely be honest and admit I don't clean the windows like I should or dust the shelves like I should, but other than that I do what I'm supposed to do. How hard is it to pull sodas from a more or less tool shed and stock them in the five coolers we have. Or does it take so much time and energy to go into a cooler and pull energy drinks and whatnot and put them in an inside cooler? Or can you please push beer around and stock it and condense what you see? How hard is it to do that? I do it everyday and I can leave on time, handle customers, and still make sure the store looks awesome when I leave at night. Now why can't anyone else do this. Its like people don't want to work, I'm cool if you tell me I gotta do this or that or the other, but its like so why couldn't you at least tell me or try doing it yourself. 136 sodas, not including the sodas I moved from one side to the other so they wouldn't be old, plus the energy drinks that I had to stock and that was about 50 or so. Thank you for that, two days I'm gone and the store is shit and you and even higher ups don't care. I hate my job as much as the next person but I'd love it if people just did their part, things would run a lot smoother.

Q: "You can't complain about something if you don't try easing the problem yourself."

Easy Meals: Shrimp Alfredo

Today I made a favorite mine, shrimp Alfredo. I love seafood and I forgot my mom had gotten me some shrimp a about a week ago. So went to the store to make this. If you wondering what you need and how to make it, here is what you need.

1/2 lb small shrimp
any kind of pasta, I used linguine
broccoli, cut up
baby mushrooms
alfredo sauce
seasonings: salt, pepper, seasoning salt, garlic powder
olive oil
balsamic vinegar

Boil the water for your pasta and put a little olive oil and salt into it, then put your pasta in and stir it while it cooks. With your shrimp make sure you take the shells off and have rinsed them in cold water. I baked my shrimp but you can do the same on top of the store in a frying pan by sauteing them. Get a good enough size pan for the shrimp, put as much or as little seasonings as you want, this is all down by eye because you might just want a little or a lot, but be warned, don't use a lot of salt or the seasoning salt, you will regret it. Splash the balsamic vinegar a few times and make sure it gets on all the shrimp, then do the same with the olive oil and but in the oven on 350 until they are pink and have a nice color. You want to make sure they are done. If you see they are all pink, maybe after about 10 to 15 minutes, keep them in maybe five minutes more if you really want to make sure they are finished. While you stir your pasta, you are either going to steam your broccoli and mushrooms. After everything is finished you will drain the pasta and put it back in the pot, but make sure there is no water. Then take the shrimp along with the juice and pout it into the pot. Do the same with the veggies but don't put any of the water into it, just the veggies themselves. Put the Alfredo sauce on top, about half the jar, then mix. Now pour the rest of the Alfredo and mix it well and serve.
